  • Configuration backup/restore i Device configuration can be saved to file and uploaded to same or other routers
  • VRRP i Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol - an election protocol that dynamically assigns responsibility for one or more virtual router(s) to the VRRP router(s) on a LAN, allowing several routers on a multiaccess link to utilize the same virtual IP address.
  • IPSec i The IPsec protocol client enables the router to establish a secure connection to an IPsec peer via the Internet
  • GRE Tunnel i GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation RFC2784) is a solution for tunneling RFC1812 private address-space traffic over an intermediate TCP/IP network such as the Internet. GRE tunneling does not use encryption it simply encapsulates data and sends it over the WAN.
  • OpenVPN i OpenVPN is an open-source software application that implements virtual private network (VPN) techniques for creating secure point-to-point or site-to-site connections in routed or bridged configurations and remote access facilities. It uses a custom security protocol that utilizes SSL/TLS for key exchange.
  • PPTP i Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) is a protocol (set of communication rules) that allows corporations to extend their own corporate network through private over the public Internet.
  • L2TP i In computer networking, Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) is a tunneling protocol used to support virtual private networks (VPNs) or as part of the delivery of services by ISPs. It does not provide any encryption or confidentiality by itself.
  • SNMP i Simple Network Management Protocol - a set of protocols for managing complex networks. SNMP works by sending messages, called protocol data units (PDUs), to different parts of a network.
  • SNMP trap i Asynchronous notification from agent to manager. SNMP traps enable an agent to notify the management station of significant events by way of an unsolicited SNMP message
  • Send/receive SMS i Device can send and receive SMS messages
